How To Stop Compulsive Overeating – Hint, You Might be Bored

Hi, this it Brittany Watkins and I am so passionate about helping women stop binge eating because I struggled with this problem for over 15 years. I’ve been completely binge free for five years now thanks to some unique methods I discovered that enabled me to trick my subconscious mind into not wanting food anymore.

Today I want to show you one simple thing you do to help you stop binge eating too.

Today we are in the Riviera Maya where I live – visiting some ruins, and I thought this would be an excellent opportunity to talk to you about how to get a life … Just kidding…..  no but really… ;-)

I can’t tell you how many women I meet who do the same thing day after day and are completely bored with their lives

And if food is your drug of choice, what do you do when you’re bored? EAT!  

Let’s do an exercise so you can see how this problem might be affecting your life.

Close your eyes and remember a time when you were extremely bored.

Maybe you were all alone at home with nothing to do or maybe you’re washing dishes or imagine someone is talking to you about something uninteresting to you.

Now pretend there is some chocolate right there in front of you – or whatever your favourite food is

What is your desire to eat it on a scale from 0-10?

Now imagine you’re doing something exciting maybe it exploring a foreign place like where I am now

Or learning a new sport like scuba diving

Or taking a new dance class like belly dancing

Or maybe you’re just surrounded with good friends laughing and having a great time.  

Now look down at that chocolate again and tell me what is your desire for that food now on a scale from 0-10?

Do you see the difference? My guess is its a lot lower than when you were bored.

So today, I am here to give you permission to get a life!

And you don’t need to spend lots of time or money to do this!

And if you’re next thought is well Brittany I don’t know what I want to do with my life…

I’m going to help you figure that out right now

Grab a pen and a piece of paper, and I want you to spend 5 minutes (15 mins is ideal) answering this question:

If you only had one more year to live, what would you want to see, do and achieve before you die?

Pause the video right now and answer this question for up to 15 minutes if you can – and come back when you’re done and I’ll share some of my answers with you…

Alright! Did you learn some new things about yourself? I know I did… There’s something about those last few minutes that really tap into your stream of consciousness so even if you didn’t pause the video now, I highly encourage you to do this exercise.

Here are some of my answers:

  • Learn Spanish
  • Fall deeply in love
  • Go to Paris
  • Completely make peace with my mother
  • See my sister Lauren get married
  • Spend a month in Italy
  • Become a mother
  • Dance all night in Ibiza in the best VIP section
  • Wear fancy dresses everywhere

Now, take action, just by having this list your subconscious mind will already start working on a plan to bring you closer to your desires, but you have to start taking action now. Pick just one thing on your list that you can do within the next month or sooner. Put it on your calendar, and don’t let anything stand in your way of doing it.

This is YOU doing things for you just because you are worth it.
