How I Almost Lost $418,523

I was standing outside the bank at the end of a 20-person line. I was a newbie and I could tell all the other applicants had tons of experience. I was interviewing for a job with one of the most prestigious banks in the industry. Everyone looked twice my age and totally slick in their fancy suits, I was wearing an old skirt I dug out of the back of my closet. “There’s no way I’ll get this job.”  I thought. "All these people have way more experience than me. I’m too young and not dressed up enough. I don’t know what I’m doing...why would they pick me with all this talent?"

So I walked out. I didn’t want to wait 2 hours just to meet someone and hear them say I wasn’t right for the job…I already knew I wasn’t.

Outside, as I was just about to reach for my car door, I heard a voice say "Go back and do the interview."

Logically, I knew there was no way I’d get picked…

But this voice was something I’d never heard before and I had a sinking feeling if I didn’t listen, I’d be missing out on something big.

So I made a decision to just go for it, even though I didn’t feel ready, even though I was SURE I wouldn’t get it…

I pushed through my resistance and went to the interview anyway. I was the last person to be interviewed and when I sat down after about 10 minutes, my interviewer took a sigh of relief and said “Whew, I’m so relieved to find someone after ALL those people…”

What? I got the job? Are you serious? No freaking way! Why me?

"All the other applicants were too cocky. I don't want to work with them." my interviewer explained.  "I can tell you're hungry and excited. That's what I'm looking for."

Holy crap. Happy dance...!

That one decision to push through my resistance catapulted my career. I was 24 years old and bought a 4,000-square-foot house on a golf course and a Range Rover within 6 months.

If I hadn't gone back in to do that interview the story would be very different.

But I trusted my instincts and started before I felt ready…

And most successful people do. They start before they feel ready, even when it doesn’t make logical sense, even when it feels impossible; they trust and take action.

You'll never feel ready to make the impact you were put on this earth to make.

You must find the courage to rise up above your fear and just do it.

You’re worth it and, despite what your thoughts say, you're ready right now.

We still have a few spots left for the coach certification program (apply here to find out if you’re a good fit).

It is my sincere wish for you to have everything you desire, in every area of your life…

With all my love and appreciation,
